Workshop Details

One of the biggest obstacles to peace is the constant voice, or the ‘judge’ in our heads. This voice blocks our ability to create what we want in our lives. This experiential workshop helps us learn to free ourselves from the energetic and physiological effects of self-judgment.

- Learn how debilitating self-judgment is in our lives.
- Explore practical tools to free ourselves from this inner tyrant.
- Set clear boundaries when others judge us.
- Free yourself from the judge within.

With these skills, we can restore a sense of playful joy and have freedom to create what we want in our lives.

Workshop is facilitated by Wendy Wagoner, Awakening Coach at Seeds of Light Healing Arts, LLC.

EXPLORE Northern Michigan

Summer is the most popular season to visit Northern Michigan. The sun brings everyone outside and people congregate along the Lake Michigan shoreline and surround the lakes. Craft beer, great food and live music fill the parks and the surrounding natural features offer ample opportunity to explore. While Traverse City is well-known for its tart cherries, it has so much more to offer.

The workshop is located in Grawn, Michigan, which is a prime location for exploring the area while avoiding the summer crowds in downtown Traverse City. The neighboring town of Interlochen is home to Interlochen Center for the Arts, a renowned destination for arts education and cultural programs. And if you head west, you'll be in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore within 40 minutes.

While the workshop will be during the day, you have the option of going out in the evenings for food, drinks, shopping or even a sunset along the lake. If you are from out of town, I highly recommend that you extend your trip so you have time to explore. I have included some recommendations for the local area below.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

The Traverse City area draws high crowds in the summer for its' renowned Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

From Grawn, the drive to the National Lakeshore will take you around 40 minutes. You'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the dunes against the bright blue water of Lake Michigan.

The Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive opens in May and is full of 12 accessible stops and breathtaking viewpoints. And the Dune Climb is open year-round if you're feeling adventurous.

Visit the Visitor Center in Empire, MI or the National Park Website to plan your trip.

Note: There are fees to enter the park if you don't have a National Park Pass. More details here.

Hike And dinner | Leelanau peninsula

Whaleback Natural Area offers great, easy hiking trails with vantage points of Lake Michigan from the bluff. Check out the Leelanau Conservancy website for details and more natural areas to explore.

After you spend some time outdoors, head to Fishtown and meander around the unique shops tucked within the fishing village. Dine at The Cove, which overlooks the town and try their famous 'Chubby Mary.'

Looking at rocks along the shoreline at Point Bensie Lighthouse
Along the Lake Michigan shoreline near the small, quiet town of Frankfort, the Point Bensie Lighthouse offers an escape to a peaceful beach filled with differently colored pebbles. The lighthouse opens at the end of May.

Please check with the National Lakeshore about rules and regulations before taking any rocks or pebbles without permission.

SHOP at gwen frostic

Tucked away and built almost within the ground and surrounding landscape in Benzonia, MI, shopping Gwen Frostic is a must-do. Every time I stop, I stock up on her prints for year-round cards, Christmas gifts and more. They are relatively inexpensive and its peaceful to wonder the grounds and look down into the workshop where everything is printed.
