A Typical Attuned Coaching Session

NOTE: The following is only a template of the Awakening to Presence (ATP) process and what can happen in a session.

I often get the question, “What happens in a typically Attuned Coaching session?”

First, a client should check-in with themselves in the moment and find the topic that feels most relevant and meaningful. This topic could refer to a 'stuck' place in their life. Or, if they are experiencing suffering in their lives, we can start there. Sometimes we talk about numerous topics until we find the one of most relevance in the moment. This is Left Brain Exploration

After sharing with the coach, we dive deeper into the cognitive story place and find the felt sense in the body. This is the Right Brain Exploration

The next step is grounding into the body, allowing what the body wants to release to happen. The body might need to unwind and emotions might need to be expressed from the limbic area of the brain, so any holding can relax in the body as you come into the present moment without a cognitive story self. This is the Mid Brain Exploration

Lastly we can dive deeper, past the wound layer and past the pain and suffering down to another layer in search of pure awareness, formlessness, and Being. This is an experience of True Nature, or one with everything. There you will find that you are not separate, but a part of an incredible life force that moves in all of us and beyond.

Having our felt sense of identity firmly rooted in the depths of pure existence -- that background awareness and spaciousness of Life itself -- that is the key to our freedom, and to enjoying our life on this earth.

As a coach I stay present with what is here now, in each moment, so the client can be true to what is unfolding in that moment for them. This deepest layer does not always happen - we might just explore the upper layers for a period of time until there is a bond and a trust between the client and coach. This work is a process of investigation and there is no set time or framework to adhere to. We go on a journey of exploring and have no set agenda. What I presented in the sequence above is just a template of ATP and what can happen. This work can be done in-person, in a workshop setting, or remotely.
